The NMRA(BR) 2022 May Meet is being hosted by the Thamesiders at the Feering Community Centre, CO5 9QB on Sunday 22 May 2022 between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00.

The Thamesiders have groups representing both HO & N gauge, and they will be in attendance supporting and operating two sets of modules, one for each scale.

The HO modules, attending the meet as the Essex Belt lines, have been exhibited previously. The Essex Belt Lines will be presented in a tail chase configuration 31ft x 15ft.

The N gauge modules, based on a twin track mainline, will be exhibited as an L shaped dog bone at the meet. The main-line has (in one direction) a running length of 50ft or so. The long arm of the N gauge “L” has a split 7 road yard on part of it.

To complement the two set of modules, we will also have a time saver switching layout for your entertainment.

Assuming the Wi-Fi connection is adequate, we will be running a live stream of the trains. Elsewhere on the day, Dan Spalding will be demonstrating methods for weathering freight cars using techniques and materials that are household friendly i.e. minimal use of airbrushing / aerosols and smelly solvents. This will include acrylic and oil paints, enamel and acrylic washes and pigments.

There will be a limited number of Bring and Buy tables made available. So far Peter North, The Thamesiders and Peter Gibbs have taken tables. Unfortunately Kathy Millatt has had to withdraw. The trade will be represented by Anoraks Anonymous, Coastal DCC, Orwell Models and Plus Daughters.

The British Region will be represented by the NMRA(BR) library, so please bring back any books you have on loan. Chris James will have a DCC programming track, and Ray Persing will be running a popular vote contest featuring freight and passenger cars.

The Kelvedon Sandwich Bar will be providing the refreshments with a full range of sandwiches and baguettes. Refreshments for the early arrivals will be bacon butties or something similar.

The admission price will be £5.00 for non NMRA members, and £4.00 for members.

The Thamesiders would welcome new members so please come along and meet us at Feering or come to our monthly physical meets at St Osyth, where we enjoy a fish & chip lunch.
