A 2-section corner module designed around the Taggart, Utah location on the Union Pacific mainline from Cheyenne, WY to Ogden, UT.
The module aims to provide a ‘high-iron’ location for the passage of the types of trains that N Scale allows us to represent so well.
This area of Utah features dramatic rock outcrops and, at this particular location, the mainline cuts through a 200-yard wide rock outcropping to provide this dramatic location – smooth grassy hill on one side and sharp dramatic rock formations on the other. Combined with the river meandering around and cutting the valley through the rocks, the location has everything that one could ask for a scenic location.
If you’re interested to see more, have a look at this YouTube drone video taken in the area:
Available baseboard space limits the opportunity to do this location justice but the autumnal colours are inspiration enough.
The basic trackplan is shown below and a series of separate articles look at the construction of the module.
